Da Nang promotes development of high-quality medical tourism products
Speaking at a workshop on developing medical tourism held in Da Nang on Tuesday, Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Tran Chi Cuong stressed the necessity for the city to develop high-value tourism products such as medical services in a bid to lure more tourists to the city. This was considered to be the premise for Da Nang to brepromote growth as well as was also a practical requirement of the Central Government for the city, he added.

Vice Chairman Cuong remarked that the human resource was the most important factor to build effective medical tourism products. Medical personnel today not only serve the healthcare sector but also must serve tourism. He, therefore, underlined the need to create a close linkage within each field as well as between tourism and healthcare sectors.
He took the opportunity to urge departments, branches and sectors to focus on propaganda and promotion work to bring products to tourists, and build attractive promotional programmes.
Mr. Cuong believed that in the coming time, Da Nang's medical tourism products will soon be formed and at the same time be the core product of the local tourism sector.
Co-organised by the Medical Association, the Da Nang Department of Tourism, the Department of Health, and the Tourism Association, the workshop attracted more than 200 delegates from departments, branches, hospitals, travel businesses, accommodation establishments, domestic and foreign experts and investors.
Representatives of the Da Nang Hospital, the Thien Nhan Hospital, the Da Nang Traditional Medicine, the Hospital No.199 under the Ministry of Public Security shared experience in implementing medical examination services for foreigners, the process of welcoming international tourists, and the advantages and difficulties in implementing the medical tourism model.
In addition, participating delegates discussed the current situation and great potential for medical tourism development in Da Nang.
