Da Nang to have 18 commune-level administrative units and Hoang Sa special zone
At its recent 19th session, the Da Nang Party Committee’s Executive Board (term XXII) has unanimously approved Resolution No. 25-NQ/TU on the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in the city. In particular, there will be 19 commune-level administrative units after the arrangement, including 15 wards, 3 communes and 1 special zone.
Accordingly, the expected list of commune-level administrative units of Da Nang is as follows:
Hai Chau 1 Ward will be formed by merging wards of Hai Chau, Phuoc Ninh and Binh Thuan (all currently belonging to Hai Chau District).
Hai Chau 2 Ward will be created by merging wards of Thanh Binh, Thuan Phuoc and Thach Thang (all currently belonging to Hai Chau District).
Wards of Hoa Thuan Tay, Hoa Cuong Bac and Hoa Cuong Nam (all currently belonging to Hai Chau District) will be merged into Hai Chau Ward 3.
Thanh Khe Ward 1 will be created by merging wards of Xuan Ha, Chinh Gian, and Thac Gian (all currently belonging to Thanh Khe District).
Thanh Khe Ward 2 will be formed by merging wards of Thanh Khe Tay, Thanh Khe Dong, and An Khe (all currently belonging to Thanh Khe District).
Wards of Phuoc My, An Hai Bac, and An Hai Nam (all currently belonging to Son Tra District) will be merged into Son Tra Ward 1.
Son Tra Ward 2 will be formed by merging wards of Tho Quang, Nai Hien Dong and Man Thai (all currently belonging to Son Tra District).
Ngu Hanh Son 1 Ward will be created by merging wards of My An, Khue My, and Hoa Hai (currently belonging to Ngu Hanh Son District).
Ngu Hanh Son 2 Ward will be formed by merging Hoa Quy Ward (currently belonging to Ngu Hanh Son District) and Hoa Phuoc Commune (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District).
Hoa Khanh Nam Ward (currently belonging to Lien Chieu District) and Hoa Son Commune (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District) will be merged into Lien Chieu 1 Ward.
The formation of Lien Chieu 2 Ward will be based on merging Hoa Khanh Bac Ward (currently belonging to Lien Chieu District) and Hoa Lien Commune (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District).
Lien Chieu 3 Ward will be created by merging Hoa Hiep Bac and Hoa Hiep Nam wards (currently belonging to Lien Chieu District) and Hoa Bac Commune (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District).
The wards of Hoa Tho Tay, Hoa Tho Dong and Khue Trung (currently belonging to Cam Le District) will be merged into Cam Le 1 Ward.
Cam Le 2 Ward will be formed by merging Hoa An and Hoa Phat wards (currently belonging to Cam Le District) and Hoa Minh Ward (currently belonging to Lien Chieu District).
Cam Le 3 Ward will be created by merging Hoa Xuan Ward (currently belonging to Cam Le District) and Hoa Chau Commune (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District).
The formation of Hoa Vang 1 Commune will be on the basis of merging 2 communes of Hoa Phong and Hoa Phu (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District).
Hoa Tien and Hoa Khuong communes (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District) will be merged into Hoa Vang 2 Commune.
Hoa Vang 3 Commune will be created by merging Hoa Ninh and Hoa Nhon communes (currently belonging to Hoa Vang District).
Hoang Sa special zone (commune-level administrative unit) will be on the basis of the current status of Hoang Sa Island District.
This resolution adjusts the merger of 1.7km2 and 5,272 people of Hoa Phuoc Commune, Hoa Vang District into Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, as well as adjusts 8.4km2 and 1,342 people of Hoa Lien Commune to merge into Hoa Bac Commune (also belonging to Hoa Vang District).
Public opinions will be collected from April 19 to 21, 2025, and then will be submitted to the municipal People's Council on April 24, 2025 for consideration and approval.
