The police of Thach Thang Ward, Hai Chau District, reported that they have strengthened measures to maintain security and order, promoted crime prevention communication, and increased situational awareness in the area. Accordingly, they have strictly monitored and checked individuals of interest, carried out operations to crack down on crime before, during, and after the holiday period, and coordinated patrols to restore pavement and traffic order. In addition, 100% of officers have been on duty for patrols, particularly focusing on monitoring young people showing signs of legal violations.
In Phuoc My Ward, Son Tra District, since early March, local authorities have strictly handled cases of motorbike and car wash and repair shops causing pollution and encroaching on pavements, as well as the operation of illegal parking lots.
Mr Nguyen Tran Bang, Chairman of the People’s Committee of the ward, stated that they have focused on addressing aggressive street solicitation, following tourists, and using children for disguised begging along Hoang Sa, Vo Nguyen Giap, Pham Van Dong, Ho Nghinh, Ha Bong, Ha Chuong, Nguyen Van Thoai streets, and other areas with large tourist footfall. At the same time, the ward has launched emulation movements and communication campaigns in neighbourhoods and residential groups to encourage citizens to help keep pavements clear, avoiding the use of items like flowerpots, ornamental plants, and mobile canopies that obstruct walkways. These actions contribute to creating a cleaner, more open environment, attracting tourists and enhancing the city’s image.
The police of Hoa Cuong Bac Ward, Hai Chau District, have assigned additional officers to maintain order at venues hosting events. Each officer is briefed on their specific tasks and responsibilities. Furthermore, specialised units of the municipal police force, including Units 911, 8394, and 6743, have increased patrols and inspections to prevent theft, maintain public order and traffic safety, and address any unlawful activities.
From the beginning of the year to 17 March, the inter-agency food safety inspection team in Hai Chau District inspected 463 food production, processing, and business establishments; 5 were fined for food safety violations, with total penalties amounting to VND 11 million. Ms Pham Thi Thuy Phuong, Head of the District Health Office, noted that the department has increased inspections and guidance for food service providers to ensure proper hygiene practices, such as correct food storage, personal hygiene, and maintaining cleanliness in surrounding environments.
Meanwhile, the Urban Order Inspection Team of Hai Chau District has mobilised all officers to thoroughly handle pavement and roadway encroachment for business purposes, such as placing tables, chairs, signs, or operating illegal parking services, and has worked to raise awareness and prevent pickpocketing, theft, and fighting in crowded areas.
The Da Nang’s Food Safety Management Board has intensified inspections of documentation related to food safety, including facility certificates, health checks, knowledge certificates for owners and food handlers, invoices, and the origin of ingredients. At the same time, it has implemented three-step food verification procedures, covering procurement, transport, storage, preparation, and usage at hotels and restaurants. Food samples are stored for 24 to 48 hours as per regulations. Violations will be strictly handled to ensure safety during major holidays and city-wide events.
