Accordingly, the Youth Union organisation of Hoa Nhon Commune in Hoa Vang District integrates different types of books into QR codes. The initiative aims to encourage youth union members and young people in the locality to use computers and smartphones to click on the QR code to find and read their favorite books in order to improve their understanding and reading culture.
Last year, the Youth Union organisation gave 5 members seeds and livestock to implement start-up models, and at the same time, introduced 100 young people to work in companies and factories in the locality.
Hong Tuyet always pays attention to effectively carrying out social security projects in the locality. In 2024 alone, she mobilised philanthropists to donate 42 study corners totalling more than VND 67 million, to disadvantaged pupils. On the occasion of International Children's Day (June 1), she gave free haircuts, notebooks, schoolbags, and gifts to 85 children in the locality, at a total cost of VND 23 million.
In addition, the commune-level Youth Union organisation coordinated with the Youth Union organisation of the Viet Nam - Korea University of Information and Communication Technology - the University of Da Nang to organize free teaching of cultural subjects, English, and IT for more than 20 disadvantaged students during the summer.
Implementing the National target programme on new-style rural area building, she mobilised local people to donate land, and youth union members and young people to contribute more than 2,000 working days to build rural roads and donate 112 units of blood. Thanks to her outstanding contributions, Hong Tuyet has been recognised and rewarded many times by authorities at all levels.
Many initiatives in education work
Secretary of the Youth Union organisation of Son Tra Senior High School Le The Toan is a shining example in professional work and Youth Union activities.
Assigned to teach the subject of National Defence and Security Education, he always completes his tasks well, and regularly trains students to win high prizes in National Defense and Security Education sports competitions at the municipal and national levels.
Over the past three years, he has had 3 initiatives recognised by the municipal Department of Education and Training as type B, the latest being the initiative "Applying active teaching methods to prevent and combat the harmful effects of drugs". The above initiative is implemented at Son Tra, Phan Chau Trinh and Ngu Hanh Son Senior High Schools. Accordingly, instead of the traditional teaching method, he encourages pupils to make vivid models, and create and handle situations related to drug issues to improve their knowledge and awareness.
In the Youth Union work, he built plans and directed the affiliated Youth Union organisations to effectively implement volunteer and social welfare programmes.
Since 2022, the Youth Union organisation of the school has carried out a project to prevent and combat plastic waste with a focus on regularly collecting plastic waste in the school and then sell them to raise funds for social welfare activities. In addition, Youth Union members have been encouraged to raise funds from making and selling handmade handicrafts.
From the accumulated money and mobilised resources, in 2024, the school’s Youth Union coordinated with the school’s Trade Union to visit and give gifts, totalling around VND 30 million, to children in Tay Giang District, Quang Nam Province; gifts, valued at VND 12 million, to 30 disadvantaged school pupils; and 250 national flags worth VND 5 million to fishermen in Son Tra District.
Over the past two years, the school's Youth Union organisation has admitted more than 600 members, and introduced 16 cases of Party membership, including two pupils.
"I am very honored and proud to receive the Ly Tu Trong Award. I thank the school leaders and my family for always encouraging, creating conditions, and supporting me to complete my assigned tasks well. This is the motivation for me to continue to strive in my expertise and Youth Union work in the coming time", The Toan shared.
