NBT coffee shop - dedicated to the late city leader
Since opening just 4 months ago, the NBT coffee shop, located at the eastern end of an overpass at Da Nang’s Hue T-junction, has become popular with local residents.
The shop’s owner, 25-year-old Nguyen Bao Han, explained that NBT is short for Nguyen Ba Thanh, the name of the city leader who died last February. He said that the café's logo ‘NBT - Da Nang Xin Cam On Nguoi’ (NBT - Da Nang Thanks You) expresses the deep gratitude local residents have for Mr Thanh. Han added that he decided to open his coffee shop near the overpass because it was the city’s final building project bearing the hallmark of Mr Thanh.

The glasses and cups and other items have ‘NBT’ printed on them, and Mr Thanh’s most famous statement when he was alive,‘Noi La Lam’ (Do What You Can Say), is also printed on the shop’s menu.

Mr Nguyen Van Muoi from Ton Dan street said that he often visits the venue because it helps him to commemorate the beloved late leader.
Bao Han said that he intends to create an area in his shop to display photos about Mr Thanh’s life and career. In addition, he is planning to set up a charity fund to help local disadvantaged people in order to express his special thanks to Mr Thanh for what he did for Da Nang. The fund money will be raised from part of the coffee shop’s profits.
