Quynh Dai Loc Restaurant, a taste of Dai Loc in Da Nang
Over recent years, Da Nang has seen a boom in the number of restaurants serving ‘banh trang cuon thit heo’ (belly pork and vegetables wrapped in soft rice paper) using meticulously selected ingredients transported from Quang Nam Province’s Dai Loc District.
‘Quynh Dai Loc’ Restaurant at 108 Yen Bai Street in Hai Chau District is a typical example. The ‘banh trang cuon thit heo’ here boasts an amazing taste thanks to its main ingredients: belly pork and rice paper. In particular, the belly pork is selected from healthy pigs which are raised and fed on sweet potato leaves and rice bran from Dai Loc District. Meanwhile, the rice paper, which is made from rural rice, boasts a unique fragrance to increase the appetite of diners.

Raw vegetables are indispensable ingredients, making this nutritious dish even more delicious. These include basil, salad, houttuynia and other colourful edible vegetables picked from local vegetable gardens.
The dish is served with thinly sliced green mango and carambola, unripe bananas and chillies, and a dipping sauce of ‘mam nem’ (a type of fish sauce, made from small fish or small shrimps). The amazing mixture of the various flavours really gives a pleasant texture and a smooth aftertaste!
