Over recent years, Da Nang’s some restaurants which specialise in serving mouth-watering traditional Vietnamese dishes, have been very popular with both local residents and visitors.

In addition to Ngoi Do, Nha Do and Bep Hen which all made their debuts in the city  several years ago, the newly-opened Nha Ta (My Home) Restaurant at 134 2 September Street is now another good choice for local gourmets and visitors.

On entering the 2-storey venue, customers will be deeply impressed by its simple architectural retro-style which stimulates their senses of sight and taste.

Showing off the slogan ‘As Delicious As Your Mother-Prepared Dishes’, the lovely restaurant offer varied menu to satisfy its guests, especially regular choices on the daily menu of every Vietnamese family.

Most notable are boiled vegetables, fried flying fish and eggs, boiled pork, ‘ca bong kho rim’ (goby cooked with fish sauce), ‘dua chua’ (fermented mixed pickles, ‘ca muoi’ (eggplants pickled in vinegar) and ‘muoi vung’ (sesame mixed with salt).  In particular, these dishes feature simple yet special recipes which will leave customers time to linger over their meals at this restaurant.

It is common to see that such delicious dishes are usually wholeheartedly prepared by female home cooks in Vietnamese families.  Interestingly, these daily Vietnamese dishes are also so reminiscent of those from Viet Nam’s subsidy period between 1976 and 1986.

Nha Ta is indeed a wonderful choice for those who now live far away from their homes in other localities, but they still keep their special sentimental attachment and feelings of nostalgia for the good old days back in their hometowns, especially daily dishes made by their beloved mothers.
