Friendly rentals in city win hearts of residents
There are more than 3,000 workers and university students residing in industrial-packed, schools-filled in Lien Chieu District. As such, the demand for rental places is high. Lacking of rental houses and social security related problems weight heavily on the shoulders of local authorities. However, when the friendly rentals are founded, security and safety have been improved remarkably.
“The security situation is much better when the friendly rentals and self-regulated teams are founded, they are very friendly and they can help each other, said Nguyen Thanh Dung, a resident in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward, Lien Chieu District.
These rental houses are fully equipped with fire hydrants and bells to warn the residents if there are any fire hazards, he added.
Da Nang labor union is responsible for the friendly rentals. After one year of implementation it has gained popularity. More than 100 landlords in workers-packed districts like Lien Chieu, Son Tra, Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts have committed to the project. The common rules such as keeping the community safe and tidy, having fire hydrants readily available are strictly complied.
Dang Dieu, a landlord in Hoa Khanh Bac Ward said: “I collect litters to the site so the environment is always clean. Moreover, I even suggest other landlords have cameras installed for security reasons.”
Meanwhile, Truong Quang Minh, a worker at Viet Hoa said: “The security condition here is good; I have not experienced any thief at all.”
Pham Quang Anh from the Da Nang Labour Union said in 2018 the union will try to promote this friendly rentals model as this has proven to be effective, both for the residents, the landlords and the city in general.
The Da Nang Labour Union will continue to develop other rental house models to improve the city’s security and environment, contributing to its development.
