Alongside ‘Banh trang cuon thit heo’ (belly pork and vegetables wrapped in soft rice paper) and cha bo (grilled beef pate), ‘banh kho me’ has been recognised as a Vietnamese speciality by the Viet Nam Book of Records (Vietkings).
