At Con Market, the shopping atmosphere is lively and bustling. In the early days of 2025, the number of visitors to the market has steadily increased. Stalls display a wide variety of products at stable prices, attracting numerous shoppers.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Kim Hong, owner of Ha Cuong confectionery and dry goods stall, shared that she had been stocking up on Tet goods since the 11th lunar month to meet the increasing demand of customers during the year-end season. Compared to previous years, the prices of confectionery items have remained largely unchanged, with only slight increases in some products.
“Before Tet is when people shop the most. I’ve prepared a full stock to serve the community. I hope business remains stable and even busier in the coming days,” Ms. Hong said.
According to Mr. Phan Thanh Thoai, Head of the Con Market Management Board, preparations for Tet goods were implemented early. The management board instructed vendors to ensure an abundant supply, stable prices, and high product quality. Stalls are also required to clearly display prices and adhere to regulations regarding product origins.
The management board has increased inspections to ensure goods are safe and high-quality for consumers. They also regularly update prices to prevent hoarding or price gouging for profit and impose strict penalties on vendors violating regulations to maintain fair trade practices. The management board is committed to promptly resolving any issues to protect consumer rights.
“With thorough preparation by the merchants and the management board, residents can rest assured that they’ll have access to the best products for the upcoming traditional Lunar New Year,” Mr. Thoai said.
At major supermarkets across the city, shopping has become livelier than ever, with the number of visitors growing daily. Shelves are continuously restocked to meet the rising demand as Tet approaches. Tet gift baskets are displayed in various price ranges, providing convenience for shoppers.
Ms. Vo Thi Thu Thuy, Director of GO! Da Nang Supermarket, shared that this year, the close timing of the Gregorian New Year and the Lunar New Year has created a great opportunity for the supermarket system to prepare and serve customers thoroughly.
The supermarket collaborated with suppliers three months ago to ensure an abundant supply of goods at stable prices. Currently, 95% of the products in the supermarket are Vietnamese. This not only supports local suppliers but also allows the supermarket to effectively meet the shopping needs of residents during Tet.
To ensure the quality of goods, the supermarket has focused on steps such as food safety checks, verifying quality-related documents, and monitoring expiration dates. It has also closely collaborated with relevant agencies to conduct inspections and supervision, providing customers with peace of mind while shopping.
“Every year, we achieve sales growth during the Tet season, and this year, GO! Da Nang aims to achieve a 20% growth compared to the same period last year. I believe Tet shopping demand will continue to increase in the coming days as everyone prepares for a warm, prosperous, and joyful New Year for their families,” Ms. Thuy shared.
According to representatives from GO! Da Nang Supermarket, Tet gift baskets are among the best-performing product categories, with significant growth compared to the previous year.
