This year, fresh flowers are being sold in a wide range of varieties and vibrant colours. |
Flower and gift shops along streets such as Dong Da, Ong Ich Khiem, Hung Vuong, Dien Bien Phu, and Ngo Quyen, as well as areas near schools, are witnessing a bustling atmosphere with customers actively shopping for gifts.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Binh, the owner of a fresh flower shop on Ngo Quyen Street, Son Tra District, shared that this year’s flower selection was diverse and visually appealing. Flower prices are rising daily, with roses being among the most sought-after choices. The cost of fresh flowers has increased by approximately 20-30% compared to normal days, specifically roses VND 15,000 – VND 30,000 per stem (depending on the type), tulips VND 120,000 – VND 150,000 per stem, sunflowers VND 30,000 – VND 50,000 per stem, lilies VND 25,000 – VND 35,000 per stem.
Florists also offer a wide range of flower arrangements, including bouquets, baskets, and vases, at different price points for customers to choose from. While flower prices have increased significantly, shop owners assure that pricing remains reasonable.
Additionally, consumers are increasingly opting for unique gifts that combine fresh flowers with complementary items such as teddy bears, perfumes, and jewellery, making their presents more meaningful and personalised.
Apart from fresh flowers, cosmetics, jewellery, clothing, shoes, and handbags have also attracted considerable interest from shoppers. Shopping malls, supermarkets, fashion stores, and beauty retailers are offering a diverse range of products, along with enticing promotions and discounts. Many retailers have introduced discounts of up to 50%, particularly on beauty products, fashion items, and gift sets like bath and hair care products.
Mr. Ngo Duy Hoa, a resident of Hai Chau District, shared that his wife had a stressful job, so this year, he wanted to give her a unique and meaningful gift. He opted for a preserved flower arrangement inside a balloon, accompanied by jewellery.
Similarly, Mr. Tran Cong Huy from Hoa Minh Ward, Lien Chieu District, commented that the gift market this year was highly diverse, but he had decided to purchase bath and skincare sets from reputable stores for the women in his life, as he believed those were practical gifts that everyone needed for self-care.
Not only have traditional stores been bustling with activity, but e-commerce platforms have also introduced various promotional combos and discounts ranging from 20-70% on fashion, cosmetics, gifts, and household goods. This reflects the flexibility of modern consumer trends and contributes to the vibrant atmosphere of this special day dedicated to celebrating women.
