At the festival, people of the two countries enjoyed songs, dances and typical Russian cuisine, as well as experienced making Russian pancakes and folk games. Notably, a straw effigy, symbolising the winter god Maslenitsa, was ceremonially burned, a symbolic farewell to winter.
The festival is a long-standing traditional cultural feature of the Russian people, and is held in late February or early March every year across Russia.
The festival marked the beginning of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of the Viet Nam - Russia diplomatic relations (January 30, 1950 - January 30, 2025) in Da Nang.
It provided a good opportunity for people of the two countries to understand more about each other's traditional cultural beauty, thereby contributing to strengthening their friendship.
