Although the year of construction is unknown, the oldest ordination is under the reign of Emperor Minh Mang in 1826. The Xuan Loc village communal house was burned many times due to fierce wars.

It was not until the 3rd year of King Bao Dai in 1928 that the village communal house was rebuilt in the land of Cay Rang.

The 3-compartment and 2-wing house features stone walls with 50cm thick lime mortar, columns made of jackfruit wood, and Binh Ngoa tile roofs.

There are enough altars for gods, royal concubines, couplets, ordinations, stone steles and worshiping subjects inside the house.

In 1969, the liberation army was stationed all the way from Xuan Loc village communal house to Phu Ha T-junction, with the headquarters stationed at the communal house. After that, the village was destroyed by the enemy, leaving only a section of the wall. In 1973, local people made donations to rebuild the new communal house as it is today.

Visitors to the Xuan Loc village communal house have the opportunity to well understand the formation and development of the village in particular and the northwest region of Da Nang in general.

The remaining artifacts in the village communal house such as 20 ordinations, 2 stone steles and others are valuable documents in service of the study of this land.

The Xuan Loc village communal house is a worship place for ancestors, and a meeting place of villagers on important occasions.

Currently, the Xuan Loc village communal house festival still retains its traditional identity in the customs, practices and beliefs of locals.

On July 27 every year, the place hosts a ceremony to honour poor studious pupils.
