Going to coffee shops from 4:00 a.m. has become an increasingly popular trend among young people in Da Nang for over a month now. On Bach Dang pedestrian zone along the Han River, Hai Chau District, many young people choose to start their day by enjoying a cup of coffee and waiting for the sunrise above the iconic romantic River.

As dawn approaches, rows of tables and chairs were quickly filled with customers. To meet this demand, some coffee shops on the walking street quickly added a ‘fast, convenient, and quick’ breakfast menu to increase the interesting experience for customers.

For example, Trinh shop, in addition to coffee, also serves buttered bread for VND15,000 /loaf. Mr. Nguyen Quang Thanh Son, the owner of Trinh coffee chain, said that the idea of serving coffee at 4am originated from the trend of young people in the capital city of Ha Noi.

Realizing that Trinh’s location on the walking street is so beautiful, he quickly applied it to reality. To encourage young customers to wake up early and enjoy the sunrise, in addition to publicise the shop’s reputation on its fanpage ‘Trinh Café’, the shop offers many promotions as well as decorating some corners for customers to take photos of the sunrise.

Sipping a cup of coffee while enjoying the quiet sunrise scene by the Han River has become a special relaxing way for those who love the fresh air of the early morning. The scene of dawn breaking, the gentle sunlight reflecting on the surface of the Han River, brings a sense of peace to those who wake up early.

For more than a month now, many groups of young people consider waking up early to drink coffee as an opportunity to tighten their relationship, thereby sharing the moment of welcoming the sunrise and talking about plans for the day, or simply sitting quietly together watching the beautiful, peaceful scenery.

Not only attracting young people, this trend also attracts middle-aged and elderly people. Ms. Nguyen Thi Lan, 61, a resident living near Bach Dang walking zone, happily said: “I often wake up early to exercise and now I have the habit of going to a coffee shop to enjoy the sunrise before the city witnesses more bustling vibes later during the day.
