The MT Vier Harmoni was reported missing on August 16 and search was launched one day later, MMEA said. The agency believed the ship is now off the Indonesian island of Batam.

The ship was sailing from Tanjung Pelepas port in Malaysia’s Johor state on August 15 when it was seized. Its cargo is reportedly worth about 1.57 million ringgit (392,795 USD).

The hijackers are not identified yet.
