The restaurant, owned by Mr Tao Viet Muoi and his wife Le Thi Thuy Muoi, has operated in the city for the past 32 years.  Mr Muoi was born in Quang Nam Province’s Duy Xuyen District, whilst his wife was born in the same province’s Dai Loc District.

Local gourmets and visitors to the eatery can enjoy Mi Quang served with such little broth as chicken, snakehead fish, eel and frog.

Mr Muoi said “Chives and hi-quality peanut oil are indispensable to ensure the moreish flavour of Mi Quang.  This special food at my venue boasts moreish chicken broth which is cooked for many hours to ensure the tasty flavour of the dish”.

In order to make the dish extra delicious, Mi Quang from this venue is accompanied by roasted peanuts, grilled rice paper.  In addition, it is served with vegetables, including thinly sliced banana tree trunk and buds, along with basil, salad, and young mustard.  The amazing mixture of the various flavours really gives a pleasant texture and a smooth aftertaste!

Giao Thuy’s owners have already handed out their careers to their children.  As a result, another 5 similar eateries have been to date opened in the city and neibouring localities: 2 on Da Nang’s Nui Thanh and Le Thanh Nghi streets, 2 in Tam Ky City, and the remaining one on 1A Highway in Binh Nguyen Commune in Quang Nam Province’s Thang Binh District.

Last November, Giao Thuy offered a total of 1,300 bowls of mi Quang to serve participants at the APEC CEO Summit Gala Dinner held at the Tien Son Sports Arena.  To date, the eatery has been well-known amongst local residents and visitors for its name ‘Mi Quang Apec’.

Since then, the venue has seen a 30% increase in the number of visitors who want to try the pleasant texture of this tasty dish.  Mr Muoi has recently rent a premise to open another one in the city.  The new venue, which is larger than that on Ba Dinh street, is expected to accommodate up to 300 diners, mainly domestic and foreign tourists, at the same time.
