Tien and Han, both aged 6, are amongst 4 lucky survivors of a deadly road traffic crash occurred in Quang Nam Province’s Dien Ban Town in the early morning of 30 July.

In particular, Tien received a bank savings account book, worth 2.141 billion VND, and Han got a bank savings account book valued at 1.746 billion VND.

Also at the hand-over ceremony, Han’s father and Tien’s uncle already donated 100 million VND from this total to poor patients who are in need of financial assistance to cover their treatment costs at the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital.

As previously reported, a collision between a minibus and a container truck occurred on a National Highway 1A section in Dien Ban Town, killing 13 people and injuring 4 others.

The minibus was going from Quang Tri Province to Binh Dinh Province for a wedding ceremony when it crashed into the container truck trailer travelling in the opposite direction at around 2.00 am on 30 July.

Ten people were killed on the spot and three died on the way to a local hospital. Amongst the dead was the groom, who was going to pick up his bride. His mother and sister who travelled along were also killed.

Four others, including Tien and Han, were rushed to the Da Nang General Hospital and the city’s Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital in very critical conditions.

Fortunately, both Tien and Han are gradually recovering their health, and they are expected to be discharged from the Maternity and Paediatrics Hospital over the next few days.
