Approval has been given by the Da Nang People’s Committee to temporarily use the existing pier at the Zone II Maritime Search and Rescue Centre on the Son Tra Peninsula to receive tourist boats next year.  In addition, a 40m² waiting area for passengers, portable toilets, a drinking and eating area, and a souvenir shop will be set up nearby.  The construction of these facilities will start in early March 2015, and they are expected to be officially put into use on 29 March 2015.   

A pier management team and the Son Tra District border guard forces will be responsible for managing the departure and arrival of the tourist boats at the pier.  Tourist boats owned by river tourism businesses will be expected to utilise the pier to pick up and drop-off passengers, and tours around the Son Tra Peninsula will also be available from the pier.
