Bank deposits up by 11.54%

According to the Da Nang branch of the State Bank of Viet Nam, between January and September the total of deposits at local banks reached an estimated 72.5 trillion VND, an increase of 11.54% against late 2014.

Of this figure, VND deposits rose by 10.76% to hit an estimated 68.05 trillion VND, whilst deposits in foreign currencies increased by 24.93% to an estimated 4.45 trillion VND.

Over the 9-month period, the total of deposits made by local residents hit an estimated 52.5 trillion VND, up 1.44%, whilst those deposited by economic organisations was estimated at 20 trillion VND, up 0.36%.

Total deposits at local state-owned credit institutions and joint stock banks jumped by 18.1% to an estimated 28.9 trillion, accounting for 39.86% of the total deposits over the period.  Total deposits on terms of under 12 months climbed by 9.37% to an estimated 57.5 trillion, making up 79.31% of the total.
