Covering an area of 129.53ha in Da Nang’s Cam Le District, the Hoa Xuan Sports Complex is being constructed at a cost of 4,377 billion VND.  Of this, 2,189 billion VND is granted from the central government’s budget, whilst the remainder come from the city’s budget.

Most notably, the architectural characteristics of a 40,000-seater international standard stadium will showcase the beauty of the city’s landscapes, beaches and the Marble Mountains.  In addition, the stadium's roof will be in the shape of a dragon flying in the sky.  In particular, the stadium also has a supermarket, an eating and drinking area, and stores selling fashionable sportswear, and sports and physical education equipment.

The whole complex also features another stadium with a capacity of 20,000 seats which is now under construction.  To date the construction work of the 5-tier stand A, the single-tier stand B, and the football pitch is nearly completed.

In addition, there are 2 outdoor football fields, tennis courts, water sports facilities and an athlete training centre which consists of work space for the centre’s staff members, housing for athletes, a multi-functional gymnasium, an outdoor training ground, a swimming pool and meeting halls.

According to the municipal Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, relevant central government agencies have yet to approve the funding for the project.  Therefore, grants from the central government’s budget are very difficult to get.

In an attempt to deal with this problem, at a recent meeting municipal People’s Committee Huynh Duc Tho stressed the need to appeal for donations from local organisations and individuals to keep the work on track.
