International workshop on postal service improvements
The ‘4th UPU Workshop on Quality of Service and Supply Chain Improvement Project in the Asian Countries’ is taking place in Da Nang until 2 June. The event has been jointly organised by the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the Vietnamese Ministry of Information and Communications, and the Viet Nam Post Corporation.
The event is one of UPU’s important strategies over the 2012 - 2016 period entitled ‘Doha Postal Strategy’, which aims to help participating countries increase the quality of their postal services and supply chain.
Around 50 representatives from 21 Asian countries, along with project managers and experts from UPU, are attending.

During the 4-day event, UPU experts will introduce effective measures to help participating countries to develop their action plans to improve working processes, and update their technological applications to upgrade their postal services and supply chains. The focus is also on helping them to ensure the effective monitoring of their progress in order to meet quality standards in accordance with UPU’s strict requirements.
Addressing the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Minh Hong highlighted the significance of boosting mutual cooperation amongst Asian countries in order to enhance even more the quality of postal services to meet the increasing demands of customers. He also stressed the need for participants to share their experiences in order to increase the quality of postal services.
