Da Nang People’s Committee Chairman Huynh Duc Tho has approved plans to develop new industrial parks (IPs) in the city during the 2016 - 2020 period.  This decision aims to facilitate expansion of the city’s existing businesses and to help the city attract new investment inflows.

The municipal IPs and Export Processing Zone Authority and the city’s Department of Construction will work closely with other local relevant agencies to choose suitable sites for the construction of new IPs.

Da Nang now has 6 dedicated IPs covering a total area of over 1,066ha.  They are the Hoa Khanh, Hoa Khanh extension, Da Nang, Lien Chieu, Hoa Cam and Da Nang Seafood Services IPs.

To date, 85% of the rentable space in the existing IPs has been leased by investors, and over 74,000 jobs have been created.  Most notably, businesses operating in the IPs contributed a total of over 5,000 billion VND to the city’s budget last year.

Da Nang is currently finding it difficult to establish new dedicated areas in the existing IPs for attracting small and medium-sized businesses because the remaining unused land is fragmented and scattered.
