With around 3 months to go to the APEC Economic Leaders’ Week 2017 in Da Nang, the city authorities have asked developers and construction units to make even greater efforts to accelerate the construction of local key projects.

These projects include the Ariyana Convention and Exhibition Centre at the Furama Resort Danang, the Sheraton Hotel, a road tunnel at the intersection of Dien Bien Phu and Nguyen Tri Phuong streets, the Hi-tech Park, and a cardiovascular centre at the Da Nang General Hospital.

Mr Tran Van Son, Director of the municipal Department of Planning and Investment, noted that some of the city’s key projects have already been completed and put into use.  They are the upgrade of Che Lan Vien Street and a road leading to the historical relic site K20, the building of the 20,000-seatrer Hoa Xuan Stadium in Cam Le District and an apartment building for low-income earners in Phuoc Ly resettlement area, and the expansion of the Bau Bang Drug Rehabilitation Centre in Hoa Vang District’s Hoa Bac Commune.

“The focus is on ensuring the on-schedule implementation of the local infrastructure projects.  Included are a road leading to the Hoa Trung Lake, a road from the Hue T-junction to the Hoa Cam overpass, and wastewater treatment plants in the districts of Son Tra, Lien Chieu, Hai Chau, Thanh Khe and Ngu Hanh Son”, Mr Son also remarked.

To date, only 35% of the construction of the road tunnel at the intersection of Dien Bien Phu and Nguyen Tri Phuong streets has been completed, 6 weeks behind schedule.  Therefore, the city authorities are urging construction units to accelerate the progress of this important project and ensure that the construction work will be completed on 15 October.
