Designed by the Dutch Damen Shipyards Group, the international- standard launched ships have been built by the Song Thu Shipyard Corporation under the management of the Ministry of Defence.

Each of the 42.81m-long, 7.11m-wide and 3.77m-high SPA 4207 is able to accommodate 18 crewmen in total.  It features 2 diesel engines, and can operate at a maximum speed of 25.5nmph.

The two newly-built ships will help the Viet Nam Coast Guard force conduct their missions, including their search and rescue activities, with maximum efficiency in order to ensure maritime safety.

The launching of these ship marks an important milestone in building heavy-load vessels in the Vietnamese military-owned shipyards, which helps to localise the national military products.

In particular, the Song Thu Shipyard Corporation shows its ability in building new military ships to ensure maritime security and safety at sea.  In addition, this helps to affirm Corporation’s prestige and its position in the Vietnamese shipbuildings industry.
