Vegetable and flower growers expedite their recovery from rain damage
Due to the effects of recent prolonged heavy rain, a total of 180ha of vegetables, 30,000 pots of Tet flowers and 283,500 ornamental trees across Da Nang were destroyed.

Since 18 December, taking advantage of favourable weather conditions, vegetable and flower growers in the city have been busy cleaning up, turning over the soil, liming and sowing seeds with the aim of replanting vegetables and flowers for serving the upcoming Tet Festival.
In the La Huong vegetable growing area, farmers have focused on turning over the soil and fertilising nitrate in sweet potato buds and morning glory gardens for sales next week.
Like the La Huong area, many vegetable growers across Cam Le and Hoa Vang districts have taken advantage of dry weather condition to expedite their recovery from rain damage.

After a week of dealing with effects of waterlogging and stamping leaves, Tet flower growers have sprayed pesticides and fertiliser to Tet flowers and ornamental trees.
Many people expressed their happy at the good thriving of flowers and ornamental trees after the recent prolonged heavy rain.
Mr Le Van Linh residing in Cam Le District’s Hoa Phat Ward said he has saved 1,000 pots of chrysanthemum and over 150 pots of marigolds. Under his meticulous care, these plants are now thriving well in ample sunlight and rich soil.
He remarked if the weather condition continues be favorable, his crops will be in full blossom on time at Tet as planned, but they will be not as beautiful as previous years’.
