He was accompanied by municipal People's Council Chairman Nguyen Nho Trung and municipal People's Committee Vice Chairman Ho Ky Minh.

The city delegation checked a 9,750m2 vacant site located on internal Road No10 which belongs to a project developed by the Ho Chi Minh City-based Quan Dat Trading and Production Co Ltd.

According to Mr Le Hoang Duc, the Deputy Head of the Authority of the Da Nang High-Tech Park and Industrial Parks, his unit has already asked for official permission from the city leaders to negotiate with the company about the land withdraw and compensation issues.

Accordingly, the revoked land is scheduled to be leased to businesses which are in desperate need of the land for production activities.

In reply, Secretary Nghia asked the Authority to carefully implement land withdraw and compensation steps to ensure the interest of the company.

No construction work has been begun on a 43,670m2 land area which was handed over to the General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security to develop warehouses.

In regard to this matter, the Authority proposed the city leaders consider approving other suitable locations outside the Hoa Khanh IP for the construction of the warehouses.

Fully concurring with this reasonable recommendation, the city Party chief re-affirmed that land resources inside local IPs cannot be used for the construction of such warehouse, and asked the Authority to seek other suitable construction sites.

Following the approval from the municipal administration, the dedicated Wastewater Treatment Station at the Hoa Khanh IP will be auctioned off to the highest bidder to carry out the upgrade and expansion of this overloaded venue.

In his instructions regarding this project, Secretary Nghia directed the Authority to consider applying the build-operation-transfer (BOT) model (construction - operation - transfer) on the basis of public bidding and suitable investment implementation plans.

The city leader re-affirmed the city’s strong will in quickly re-checking and facilitating local businesses, especially small and medium-sized ones, to access land resources for their production and trading purposes. This move clearly demonstrates the city authorities’ efforts in maintaining an open, fair, transparent, and healthy investment environment for domestic and foreign businesses.
