Support industries thrive in the city
This year, Da Nang’s support industries are thriving amid the city-made appeals for domestic prestigious investors nationwide to get actively involved in developing this aspect.

The Long Hau JSC, the developer of a number of industrial parks in southern Viet Nam, is implementing the construction of the hi-tech factory cluster for lease in the Da Nang Hi-tech Park which is the first of its kind in Viet Nam.
Covering a total of over 29.6 ha of land, the 1.050 billion VND cluster project, once completed, will provide ready-built factories, with an area of 500 - 3,300m2 each, for investors, plus 170m2 offices for lease.
The factories are expected to be very attractive to firms operating in technology and supporting industries such as precision engineering and electronic parts and sensor manufacturers. In addition to its factories for lease, the project will offer construction consultancy, job introduction, environmental sanitation, and support services for businesses, especial small and medium-sized ones.
When the project is completed, it is expected to attract about 120 support enterprises with a total investment capital of about 1.1 billion US$, and create employments for about 8,000 job seekers.
Japan’s Hatsuta Seisakusho Co., Ltd will build a hi-tech fire fighting equipment manufacturing factory, the first of its kind in Viet Nam, on a 6,000m2 factory which was leased by the Long Hau JSC.
Long Hau JSC General Director Tran Hong Son said the company will develop other similar projects in the support industry clusters, and the Hoa Ninh industrial park (IP) covering a total area of 400ha, at a total cost of 3,000 billion VND.
Once completed, the project is expected to attract about 200 businesses in total, create 25,000 job opportunities, and contribute about 2 billion US$ to the city’s import and export turnover each year.
Leading global manufacturer of aircraft components American Universal Alloy Corporation (UAC), the investor of the Sunshine aerospace components manufacturing project at the Da Nang Hi-tech Park, is now asking for support from the city authorities to lend a land area for the building of accommodations for its experts.
As one of the first companies in Da Nang to quickly grasp the opportunity to cooperate with foreign investors, the DINCO Engineering and Construction Corporation has become the construction contractor for the large-scale Shunshine project.

Mr Le Truong Ky, the DINCO Chairman of the Board of Directors, said, to be eligible for becoming the UAC’s partner, his company meets a lot of strict technical requirements and confirm its prestige and financial capacity. He believe that, in the near future, given the growing investment wave from aboard poured into the city, local businesess will have many opportunities to provide support services for big investors.
Mr Pham Truong Son, the Deputy Head of the Authority of Da Nang’s Hi-Tech Park and IPs remarked that the hi-tech development should be in tandem with the growth of support industries. In reality, hi-tech manufacturing enterprises, especially large-scale ones and those using a lot of product components, need suppliers.
In terms of planning, 102ha of land has been earmarked for the construction of a support industry zone in service for the Hi-tech Park, and its technical infrastructure construction is now underway.
The Authority of Da Nang’s Hi-Tech Park and IPs is appealing for estimated 842 billion VND worth of investment into housing projects in the Hi-tech Park to provide comfortable and modern accommodation for workers, experts and scientists working here. This project includes high-class villas, town houses with gardens, and high-end apartments.
In addition, the city is welcoming domestic and foreign investors for the construction of a support service centre of the city Hi-tech Park at a total cost of 316 billion VND, providing services for the production activities, and for employees, experts and scientists working here.
