The Da Nang authorities have given a nod to spend 84 billion VND from the city budget on implementing the 2^nd stage of the Dien Hai Citadel restoration and embellishment project.

The project aims is to preserve and promote the value of the local cultural heritage in the contemporary life.

The 2^nd stage of the project will focus on restoring the damaged walls and gates, preserving cannons, and embellishing the statue of General Nguyen Tri Phuong,

Besides, shrines, a rest stop for guests and security houses will be built. More instruction signs will be placed, whilst water supply and drainage systems, a parking area, plus other auxiliary facilities will be constructed.

Developed by the municipal Department of Culture and Sports, the 2^nd stage of the project is expected to be deployed during the 2019 - 2022 period.

When the site is completely refurbished, it is expected to become one of the city’s most inviting places for both locals and visitor arrivals in the city, especially those who show keen interest in conducting their historical and cultural research activities.
