Sharp rise in visitor numbers in Da Nang after tourism stimulus programme launched
Da Nang’s tourism industry is making a return after the city launched its 2020 tourism stimulus programme themed ‘Da Nang Thank You 2020' on 23 May.
A spokesperson for the municipal Department of Tourism revealed that 3-day/2-night service packages at 5 and 3-star hotels have been sold to about 4,100 tourists. Also, a large number of domestic tourists have booked Da Nang appealing tour and service packages until August.
Since 23 May, tourist sites across the city have welcomed about 88,500 passengers. In particular, the Sun World Ba Na Hills has received 62,000 visitors and the Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park 13,000.
Meanwhile, the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Museum of Da Nang, and the Museum of Cham Sculpture have together welcomed about 13,500 visitors after these venues offered free admission to all visitors on 1 June.
Till date, 550 out of 994 serviced accommodation establishments citywide have reopened to welcome their guests.
In June, the room occupancy rates at 4 to 5-star hotels are expected to reach 30% on weekdays, and more than 80% at weekends.
