Da Nang’s tourism industry is showing signs of recovery after the city launched its 2020 tourism stimulus programme themed ‘Da Nang Thank You 2020' in late May.

A large number of serviced accommodation establishments in the city have reopened to welcome their guests. Da Nang is witnessing a significant increase in visitor numbers, and the majority of tourist arrivals in the city are domestic visitors.

Ms Tran Thi Be, the manager of the Ngu Hanh Son District-based Yen Vy Hotel, said the hotel has seen an increasing number of guests who have made reservations since late May. Especially, the room occupancy rates at this hotel have gone up significantly over the weekend.

Ms Nguyen Thi Anh Thu, CEO of the Parze Ocean Hotel and Spa in Son Tra District, remarked the room occupancy rates at her hotel have reached 80% at weekends.

Ms Thu said the positive results are mainly attributed to the city’s efforts in launching its tourism stimulus campaign during the year with attractive promotions, and great deals on service and tour packages.  

Thu added her hotel is cooperating with tour operators to increase visitor arrivals to Da Nang.

Notably, the Parze Ocean Hotel has boosted the use of digital tools to conduct marketing campaigns in order to minimise marketing costs amid the Covid-19 crisis. For instance, the Parze Ocean Hotel and Spa has used chatbot technology to support guests to find information quickly and exactly.

The Nui Than Tai Hot Spring Park reopened its doors to the public on 24 May and it welcomes a daily average of between 300 and 500 visitors on weekdays, and between 1,500 and 1,800 people over the weekend. In addition, 93-room accommodation establishment in this tourist site has a large volume of guests after reopening.

General Director of the Viet Nam Travel Mart Company Nguyen Nhu Nam remarked the city’s 2020 tourism stimulus programme has proved effective as there was a sharp rise in visitor numbers in the city and Da Nang tour bookers in June and July.
