Over 2,600 long-term visitors and 700 short-term ones stay in Da Nang
In Da Nang, there are an estimated 1,900 long-term visitors who are living in apartments, and close to 700 short-term ones, the municipal Department of Tourism said on Wednesday.
Long-term visiors are visiting Da Nang for work or a business trip.
Data published by local travel agencies show that the spread of coronavirus has led the cancellation for between 90% and 100% of holiday bookings in Da Nang by group visitors made in May. In addition, the number of guests to book flights, hotels, and holiday packages in Da Nang was very low in April.
Currently, a total of nearly 450 serviced accommodation establishments in Da Nang remain open to guests. Due to the complex developments of COVID-19, most of guests have cancelled their hotel reservations in Da Nang in May and June. Accommodation establishments in the city are offering flexible policies to support their partners and guests amid the coronavirus crisis.
Currently, all tourist sites across Da Nang are temporarily closed to support the city's efforts to tackle the COVID-19 crisis.
The Management Board of the Son Tra Peninsula and Da Nang tourist beaches have deployed guards at local beaches to stop public beach access in a bid to prevent the further spread of the virus.
