Da Nang residents should not flock to buy goods as supply remains abundant: local government says
Goods in Da Nang are now plentiful and diverse, totally meeting the consumption needs of the city’s total population, so people should not rush to hoard goods in large quantities and gather in crowds at one certain place for shopping, which will increase the risk of COVID-19 infection, the Da Nang Department of Industry and Trade said in its recent written request
People can feel assured that there will never be a shortage of goods in the city, the local authorities affirmed.
For the time being, the quantity of goods on sale at commercial centres, supermarkets and markets is still abundant and diverse, with prices unchanged.
Also, food items, foodstuffs and necessities are normally supplied and stocked. Supermarkets and markets are still operating as usual.
The system of supermarkets and distributors has been committed to supplying 3 - 5 times more types of food than the current, completely enough for all local residents’ consumption for a few months.
In particular, the public should not buy one type of goods too many, resulting in immediate decrease and affecting other consumers’ access.
In fact, the supply of goods is even plentiful. However, due to mob psychology, some people have still rushed to hoard goods, causing supermarkets, stores, and online shopping sites to encounter local overload and congestion, which may create great pressure and overload the distribution system.
