Da Nang's bright software industry outlook
Software production is the economic advantage of Da Nang's information technology (IT) sector, recording a good year-on-year revenue growth. The city has paid a lot of attention to developing infrastructure for the software industry with the goal of promoting investment attraction and make this lucrative field ‘fly high and far’ in the coming time towards a key economic sector.

Infrastructure investment
As of August 2021, the city’s whole information and communications industry's revenue had been estimated at VND18,731 billion, reaching 55% of the year’s target, up 11% from the same period last year. The software export turnover reached US$ 58.2 million, reaching 53% of the year’s target, up 12% from the year-ago period.
Director of the Department of Information and Communications Nguyen Quang Thanh said that, over recent years, the city has paid attention to developing the infrastructure of IT parks and calling on even more domestic and foreign investment inflows into the centralised Da Nang IT Park and the Da Nang software parks.
Typically, the Software Park No. 1 has maintained a 100% occupancy rate.
Meanwhile, work started on the first phase of the Software Park No. 2 in Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District on October 10, 2020. The 20-storey new development has a total construction area of 26,267 m2 and a total internal gross floor area of 17,649 m2. In July, this project passed another key milestone towards its opening with a 'topping out' ceremony for the 20- storey ICT Office Building.
As for other remarkable projects, the 59,000 m2, VND700 billion FPT software production complex has put into in operation with a workforce of about 3,000 employees, whilst the first phase of the centralised Da Nang IT Park, covering an area of 131 ha in Hoa Lien Commune, Hoa Vang District, is being developed by the Da Nang IT Park Development JSC.
These above-mentioned projects are expected to bring up a high economic value and positively contribute to driving the city’s growth strides in the coming time.

Create favorurable conditions to attract more highly qualified human resources and investors
With increasingly invested and completed infrastructure, Da Nang is becoming an attractive destination for investors, especially software and IT production units. Many IT investors have received enthusiastic and thoughtful support from functional local units to complete mandatory administrative procedures.
The majority of corresponded investors feel satisfied with the support of the local government in terms of the building of healthly business environment and the symplifying of administrative procedures.
The Da Nang branch off the Axon Active Vietnam Co., Ltd has launched many comprehensive cooperation activities related to training high-quality human resources as well as accompanying the municipal government in the city’s digital transformation journey.
Dang Ngoc Hai, the Director of the Da Nang branch of Axon Active Vietnam Co., Ltd - said: “The municipal government has always tried its best to create the best posssible conditions for manufacturing enterprises to maintain its operations amid the COVID-19 wave”.
The Da Nang branch of the FPT Software Co., Ltd has, for many consecutive years, maintained the stabilty in software export activities with an annual growth rate of about 25%.
This year, due to the negative impact of the coronavirus resurgence, the company is expected to recorded a growth rate of about 19%.
Mr. Le Hong Linh, Head of the Resource Department of FPT Software Central Company, underlined a must-do for the city to release more preferential policies regarding the attraction of highly-qualified human resources for the Da Nang solfware industry.
Focus should be on attracting foreign senior experts to settle down their lives in Da Nang and work permanently here . If possible, the city should set up a specialized department to give support, proposals and consultancy for those who want to seek investment opportunities in the city’s IT industry.
From 2021 until 2025, Da Nang will encourage domestic and foreign IT and telecom businesses to put money into building manufacturing facilities for software production, digital content and other IT services.
Given its high-qualified IT employees from both home and aboard, the arrival of internationally-renowned IT and software brands and the deployment of key IT projects in the coming time, Da Nang's software industry is highly expected to play a key driver for its sustainable growth.
