Da Nang administration always stands side by side with businesses to get though difficulties
The business community has, over the pas time, accompanied the city government in the tough fight against COVID-19, and especially, stood firm in boosting production and trade activities. The positive signals from the recovery of business activities associated with close attention and direct support from the municipal government are expected to bring a facelift to the city's socio-economic performance in the new period.

Timely support for enterprises to quickly restore production
According to the Head of the Authority of Da Nang Hi-Tech Park and Industrial Zones (DHPIZA) Pham Truong Son, the local government has given priority to administrating COVID-19 vaccines to workers in local industrial parks-located enterprises with a vaccination rate of more than 93% recorded till date.
About 95% of the Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation staff, for example, have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccines, and 50% have got the second jab.
Meanwhile, these figures reached 100% and 68%, respectively, at the foreign-invested Foster Electronics Co., Ltd. Such a high immunisation rate, in fact, created a favourable basis for enterprises to boost production recovery.
During his visits to some large businesses in recognition of the Viet Nam Entrepreneurs' Day (October 13), Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang affirmed that the city's leaders will pay more attention to creating the best possible conditions for enterprises to develop production in association with the strict compliance of safety measures against COVID-19.
As per request of the municipal leaders, DHPIZA will launch the administration of the second dose of COVID-19 vaccines for enterprises’ staff by the end of this year.
In addition to the supply of vaccine shots to businesses, financial support will be given to them to cover the cost of periodic testing for SARS-CoV-2 for their staff. In the event of any coronavirus outbreak, the local authorities will send a rapid response team to assist businesses in handling this matter so that enterprises can maintain production.
More supportive policies still needed for business
Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Hoa Tho Textile and Garment Joint Stock Corporation Nguyen Duc Tri said that, during the Jan. – Sept. period, the company's revenue reached VND2,698 billion, up 9% as compared to the same period last year, whilst the total export turnover reached US$161 million, a rise of 11%.
The company earned VND72 billion in profit, up 59% over year-ago period, and contributed VND40 billion to the municipal budget.
The average income saw a rise of 8% to stand at VND7.8 million/person/month.
It is expected that the company will exceed the targets set for this year. Notably, the revenue is likely to have reached VND3,500 billion, surpassing by 2% of this year’s plan, whilst the export turnover is predicted to completely meet this year’s target with a value of US$ 206 million.

As revealed by General Director of Fujikura Automotive Viet Nam Co., Ltd. Ishikawa Yoshiaki, in the first half of this year, this business earned US$ 37.97 million worth of revenue, US$37.97 million from exports and US$24.5 million from imports.
Meanwhile, these figures hit US$18 million USD, US$18 million and US$ 7.1 million respectively at the Foster Da Nang Electronics Co., Ltd.
With such a production recovery momentum, this enterprise is highly likely to exceed its annual production targets and it now plans to recruit more workers in service for production.
Chairman of the Sun Group in Central Viet Nam Nguyen Van Binh said that, although the tourism and entertainment sectors have been severely affected by the pandemic, this Vietnamese realty giant still poured hundreds of billions of dong into preserving and upgrading infrastructure at its tourist venues to be ready for tempt visitors back following the potential permission from the municipal administration
According to a representative of Universal Alloy Corporation Viet Nam (UAC), despite many difficulties triggered by the COVID-19 pandemic, over the past months the company still recruited 300 more employees, with many young engineers accessing the company-offered advanced training on professional skills and qualifications.
In the time ahead, the company will partner with universities to develop highly-skilled human resources and provide career orientations for graduates.
