Labour usage index in industrial enterprises tends to decrease
The labour usage index in Da Nang-based industrial enterprises in September dropped by 3.9% compared with the same period last year, according to data released by the Da Nang General Statistics Office.
The main reason was that these enterprises had to carry out proper adjustments to working hours and the rotational work shifts in order to maintain production performance in tandem with implementing disease prevention and control measures under the direction of the municipal People's Committee and the Department of Health.
In particular, the labour usage index in the State-owned enterprises went down by 4.1%, non-State enterprises by 4.7%, and foreign-invested enterprises by 2. 8%.
The mining industry saw a relatively high decrease in the index with 23.4%. However, this drop did not affect the production and business activities of the whole industry because of its somewhat low proportion among the city’s industries.
On average, the labor usage index in industrial enterprises in 9 months of the year decreased by 3.6% against last year, of which the deepest decrease with 19.7% was reported in in the mining industry.
