According to the Da Nang Statistics Bureau, the total retail sales of consumer goods and services across the city is expected to have reached nearly VND5,210 billion in October 2021, up 21.4% from the previous month and 71.6% as compared to the same month last year.

As accumulated in the Jan. – Oct. period, the total retail sales of consumer goods and services is likely to be estimated at VND65,029 billion, equaling 95.6% of the figure recorded in the same period last year.

Of this, only retail sales of goods achieved a positive growth with a rise of 2.8%.

It is expected that, in October 2021, the total retail sales of goods will have reached nearly VND3,992 billion, up 19.9% over the previous month and down 20.4% over the same period in 2020.

In general, for the first 10 months of 2021, retail sales of goods are estimated to go up by 2.8% from the same period in 2020 to reach at VND47,085 billion.

In detail, 7 out of the 12 commodity groups achieved positive growth whilst a number of product groups with a large proportion recorded an increase which is higher than the general average, including food and foodstuffs up 10.1; household appliances, tools and equipment 3.2%; cultural and educational items 8.3%.

Meanwhile, travel activities and tourism support services have yet to resume normal operations. The accommodation and food services are predicted to decrease sharply, equaling only 53.3% of the figure recorded in the same period last year.
