In his remarks delivered at the event, Vice Chairman of the municipal People’s Committee Tran Phuoc Son asked the Department of Tourism, the Duy Anh Trading Joint Stock Company (IPP Travel Retail), and relevant units to ensure the success of the Routes Asia 2022.

Vice Chairman Son added the international event would open up a big opportunity for Da Nang to rise to fame as an attractive destination for tourists and investors from both home and abroad, thereby driving the growth for the aviation and tourism industries of the city, and the country as a whole.

He also urged the IPP Travel Retail to make the most of its resources to join efforts with the city to conduct marketing campaigns with the aim of enhancing the reputation and attractiveness of the international event and Da Nang as well, and promoting the brand name and expanding business cooperation of the IPP Travel Retail.

During the program, participants were provided with useful information relating to the city’s detailed plan to restart international routes in 2022, and current aviation support policies. Despite the impact of COVID-19, the Da Nang International Airport plans to upgrade its passenger and issue support policies for airlines to reopen routes to Da Nang this year.

A representative from the IPP Travel Retail pledged that the company would accompany the city to ensure the success of the upcoming international event, and to develop an airline-tourism service system in Da Nang, in which the Routes Asia 2022 is an event to kick off the ‘FantastiCity’ campaign which aims to make Da Nang an attractive destination for investors, businesspeople and tourists worldwide.

In addition, IPP Travel Retails also plans to build a financial center and a duty-free store in Da Nang in the near future.

Also at the programme, the Da Nang Department of Tourism and the IPP Travel Retail entered into a Memorandum of Understanding to jointly organize the Routes Asia 2022 which is set to take place in Da Nang from June 6-8.

The event is expected to attract more than 500 delegates who are representatives of 110 airlines and 30 travel companies globally.

The Routes Asia is the only route development event dedicated to the Asia Pacific region. First held in 2003, the annual event provides the perfect platform for event attendees to expand your connections and discuss air route development opportunities with many airlines, airports and tourism agencies in the region and around the world.

Localities that have hosted the Routes Asia event in recent years are Sarawak State, Malaysia (2012), Kunming, China (2015), Manila, Philippines (2016), Okinawa, Japan (2017), Brisbane, Australia (2018) and Cebu, the Philippines (2019). Most notably, the Routes Asia 2019 in Cebu, the Philippines, saw the participation of over 1,000 delegates and 25 speakers from more than 60 countries and 113 international airlines.
