The Da Nang government has issued a plan to carry out the strategic action plan of the PEMSEA Network of Local Governments (PNLG) for Sustainable Coastal Development in Da Nang during the 2022-2030 period.

Accordingly, Da Nang and PNLG members, and the global community as a whole, will be active in effectively implementing the PNLG's strategic action plan towards 2030, with a focus on strengthening the localisation of their selected goals including water use and conservation, initiative on solid waste and ocean plastic waste management, climate change adaptation, and the implementation of the post-2020 biodiversity framework in association with the UN decade on ecosystem restoration.

Also, the city will strengthen governance and partnerships in the management of marine and island resources and environment, carry out management programmes related to the four aforementioned sustainable development goals, improve its monitoring, evaluation and reporting capacity, and participate in capacity building programmes on integrated coastal zone management.

The Da Nang authorities asks the municipal Department of Natural Resources and the Environment to coordinate with relevant units to ensure the effective implementation of the plan.
