The Da Nang government has issued Decision No. 09/2022/QD-UBND dated April 18, 2022 related to the Regulation on the consideration of allowing eligible persons across the city to use the APEC Business Travel Card.

Specifically, Point c, Clause 1, Article 3 of the Regulation applied in Da Nang will be amended and supplemented as follows: “A person who works in enterprises having production and business capacity with production and business turnover or a total import-export turnover of one of the previous three consecutive years reached at least VND 3 billion”.

The above-mentioned Decision takes effect from May 4, 2022.

The APEC Business Travel Card (ABTC) is a card issued to business travellers and senior government officials who meet certain requirements. APEC manages the ABTC program, which it refers to as the ABTC scheme. The ABTC scheme seeks to facilitate travel in the APEC region.

The ABTC gives frequent business travellers fast-track entry and exit through special APEC lanes at participating airports; and multiple, short-term entries to precleared APEC economies without having to make a separate visa application to fully participating members.

Each economy has their own set of guidelines and processes for applying for an ABTC, including application forms, fees, and applicant screening.
