As freshly announced by the Ho Chi Minh Road Project Management Board, the developer of the La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway project, cars are now allowed to travel on the whole route with a maximum speed of 80km/h,following the effective handling of the landslide incident at km25 and prohibited makeshift passages.

If running at the designed speed, it takes about 1.5 hours for vehicles to travel on this route.

It is also known that rudimentary vehicles are banned to travel on this route.

So far, toll stations along the route have yet to be operated.

Work commenced on this expressway on December 22, 2013.

It is known that the nearly VND 11,500 billion La Son - Tuy Loan Expressway project has been carried out on the build-transfer (BT) form with a total length of 77.5km, as part of the over 3,100 km-long Ho Chi Minh Highway which runs through 28 Vietnamese localities.

This is an important route running through mountains and forests, beginning at the La Son T-junction, Phu Loc District, Thua Thien-Hue Province, and ending at the intersection with the Da Nang-Quang Ngai landmark expressway in Tuy Loan Village, Hoa Vang District, Da Nang, thus connecting with the large-scale Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway.

The La Son- Tuy Loan Expressway aims to help expand the transport links amongst key central regional economic hubs, boosting the city’s socio-economic development, and ensuring closer links with other localities in Central Viet Nam, and around the country as a whole.
