Co-organised by the Informa Routes Company, the Da Nang People’s Committee and the Duy Anh Trading Joint Stock Company (IPP Travel Retail), the 16th edition of Routes Asia will be a great opportunity for the city to drive its post-pandemic aviation recovery and development, thereby promoting investment opportunities in the field of the city’s aviation infrastructure.

According to a spokesperson for the Informa Routes Company, as of early May 2022, more than 400 delegates from 155 organisations and units had registered to join Routes Asia 2022.

As planned, the company will host an Asian aviation exhibition. Till date, it has updated the map of 43 pavilions with an area of 5m x 5m each. Particularly, the 7m x 7m Da Nang Pavilion will be set up in the middle position.

It is expected that there will be more than 1,000 meetings between airlines, airports and tourism authorities from across the Asia Pacific region using On-site Meeting System or through the Routes event app. Each participating unit has a maximum of 12 meetings with its partners that have been scheduled on the system of Routes Asia Forum.

Specially, Da Nang will have 12 meetings that have been booked in advance on the system and will take place at the B2B connection space. The city leaders will have private meetings and working sessions with 3-4 major investors at the municipal Administrative Centre.

In addition, the Informa Routes Company will organise a number of seminars and conferences. She added the Department will organise a famtrip for about 50 high-ranking representatives from international airlines to conduct their survey activities into the city’s aviation and tourism infrastructure facilities.

Additionally, importance have been attached to developing five tours for about 400 - 450 international invited guests. They will be a cultural and historical tour; a ecological tour, a tour, an experience tour, and Da Nang night tour. All the tours will focus on introducing the city’s tourist attractions and typical cultural features to invited guests, such as the Marble Mountains Tourist Area, the Museum of Cham Sculpture, the APEC Sculpture Park, the Son Tra Peninsula, and others.

Moreover, the local tourism industry will deploy some activities and programmes to promote the city’s tourism images to international friends. Included will be a set of tourism publications and souvenir gifts, a pavilion to introduce Da Nang tourism and aviation sectors at the forum's Asian aviation tourism exhibition, a photo exhibition featuring the beauty of Da Nang, and a parade of eye-catching flower-decorated boats.

Chairman of the Da Nang Tourism Association Cao Tri Dung emphasised that by hosting the forthcoming event, Da Nang continues to rise to fame as an attractive destination for tourists and investors from both home and abroad, as well as a dynamic aviation and tourism hub in Viet Nam and the region.

He revealed that the Association has closely worked with tourism firms and tour operators in the city to carefully prepare for the aforementioned tours for invited guests.

According to Mr. Phillip Nguyen, Deputy General Director of IPP Travel Retail cum General Director of the Duy Anh Trading JSC, Da Nang is well known as an emerging and attractive tourist destination that has won numerous titles and awards voted by prestigious organisations around the world.

Especially, thanks to its experience in hosting the APEC Economic Leaders' Week in 2017, its modern aviation infrastructure and its route network throughout Asia, the city has become the first city of Viet Nam to host the Routes Asia.

The Da Nang International Airport, one of Viet Nam's 3 major airports, serves a daily average of 326 flights.
