By 2025, 100% households to have digital addresses
The national government has just given the green light to the National Postal Development Strategy by 2025 with a vision towards 2030, setting a goal of developing the postal service into an important and essential element of the country’s infrastructure.
The strategy sets a target that by 2025, each Vietnamese household will have the digital address; 100% of the agricultural production households will participate in transactions on e-commerce platforms owned by Vietnamese postal enterprises; all of the products traded on e-commerce floors owned by Vietnamese postal enterprises must be branded and have traceability; all of the postal service points are capable of serving people using online public services.
To realise the above-mentioned targets, focus will be on perfecting the legal environment, fostering postal infrastructure and service development, promoting postal digitalisation and developing human resources and publicity.
Accordingly, the administration of centrally-governed cities shall coordinate with the Ministry of Information and Communications to implement the assigned tasks in this strategy.
With current growth at 20-30% per year, the postal and delivery industry will see annual revenue of $10 billion by 2030.
