Da Nang calls for investment into 7 key projects

Da Nang is now calling for investment into 7 key projects, announced by Vice Chairman of the Da Nang People's Committee Ho Ky Minh at the Da Nang Investment Forum 2022 on Saturday afternoon.

Accordingly, by 2045, Da Nang will become one of the major socio-economic centres of Viet Nam, and Southeast Asia at large, with 3 main functional centres, namely the high-quality tourism and services, IT and Hi-tech and international finance.

To realise the above-mentioned orientations, Da Nang is focusing on calling for investment flows into a number of key projects, namely the Lien Chieu Port, the complex of financial, commercial, entertainment, casino and high-class apartment buildings, the Da Nang Creative Space, the International Trade Centre, the International Hospital, the Nursing Home and the International School.

Outstandingly, the Lien Chieu Port is one of three deep-water seaports of Viet Nam, planned as a special port with the scale of receiving cargo ships of up to 100,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT) and container ships with loading capacities from 6,000 to 8,000 twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEUs), plus 10,000 DTW liquid cargo vessels..

The project consists of 2 components.

Component A, with an investment cost of more than VND 3,400 billion, invested by national and municipal budgets, is expected to start in September 2022 with items including dikes, breakwater systems, navigation channel, turnaround places and marine signaling systems, traffic facilities connected internal roads of the port to National Highway 1A, electricity and water supply infrastructure and ancillary works synchronously to the port gate.

Component B (startup phase), covering a total area of 44ha and comprising 2 wharves (750 square meters) is called for private investment capital.

The project falls under the authority of the Prime Minister who will approve investment policy.
Investors will enjoy full incentives on land, corporate income tax, import tax and other taxes.

The financial, commercial, entertainment, casino and high-class apartment complex is expected to be developed in 4 plots of land on Vo Van Kiet Street and 1 plot of land adjacent to Vo Nguyen Giap Street in Son Tra District.

This will be the core of the financial centre with a total area of 8.4ha.

By 2030, the financial quarter, which is expected to take the shape at the Da Nang Industrial Park will meet the core area's ability to develop financial services.

The financial technology (fintech) centre in the Da Nang Software Park No. 2 will consist of 3 office blocks with a total usable floor area of more than 71,000 m2 with the aim of attracting startups in the financial sector, along with the offices of domestic and international fintech companies.

The Da Nang International Financial Centre project is developed in the direction of being an ancial services to nonresidents on a scale that is incommensurate with the size and the financing of its domestic economy.

OFC is a separate financial sector with open and highly competitive tax and supervisory regulations. The Da Nang People's Committee submitted a report to the Prime Minister proposing specific mechanisms and policies to form the OFC.

The Da Nang Creative Space project is expected to cover a total area of 17.26ha in a residential area of Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, boasting facades onto urban streets, 10km from Da Nang international airport to the north, 12km away from the city centre.

The project is located in the innovation subdivision, especially convenient to connect with the international undersea cable docking station (about 6 km), the Da Nang University Urban Area, international hospitals, fitness centres, the gymnasiums, sports and entertainment sites to promote innovation.

It will feature the functions of a research and development (R&D) zone, a software and IT product production area, a data storage centre, commercial facilities, entertainment services and housing for experts with international standards.

The land has been cleared and the investor selection procedure through land use right auction is slated to be completed by the end of 2022.

The International Trade Centre project has 3 locations: 2ha of commercial and service land to the southeast of the current Students’ Dormitory with an area of about 2ha in Hoa Khanh Nam Ward, Lien Chieu District, 24ha of land belonging to the Hoa Xuan Sports Complex in Cam Le District and nearly 1ha of land, belonging to of a 200m stretch of road from the Han River Bridge towards the sea in An Hai Bac Ward, Son Tra District.

With the International Hospital project, the city will earmark nearly 1ha of land in Nai Hien Dong Ward, Son Tra District, about 4km from the city centre to develop high-quality medical facilities. The land use right over the aforementioned land area will be auctioned at the end of 2022.

The Nursing Home project is expected to be developed on an area of about 1.1ha in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, facing the Cai River with the green corridor planning to create a friendly natural environment suitable for the relaxation requirements of the elderly.

The International Inter-level School project has 2 locations, namely about 2.1ha of land in Hoa Chau Commune, Hoa Vang District, overlooking the Cam Le River  and 1.8ha of land area in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District.
