Vietnamese Prime Minister (PM) Pham Minh Chinh on Sunday visited and surveyed a number of key factories and projects in Da Nang. He was accompanied by Da Nang Party Committee Secretary Nguyen Van Quang and municipal People's Committee Chairman Le Trung Chinh.

At the FPT City education - technology urban area, PM Chinh visited FPT University, extending words of great encouragement students studying here. At the same time, he visited the F-Complex complex - the place of work for more than 7,000 FPT Software officers and employees.

Secretary Quang said that the development orientation of FPT Corporation in Da Nang is sustainable and methodical.

Recently, FPT-built Hy Vong Primary, Secondary and High School where 1,000 orphans due to COVID-19 are cared for has come into operation.

Over the past time, the Da Nang authorities have paid great attention to creating favorable conditions for FPT.

PM Chinh hoped that FPT would contribute more to building a digital government, developing a digital society and digital citizens, and contributing to the implementation of the Industry 4.0, implement the training strategy associated with production, contributing to the development of information technology infrastructure and digital transformation; creating more jobs, promoting entrepreneurship and innovation.

FPT needs stronger exports, participate more actively in ensuring social welfare in localities, creating more jobs for people affected by Agent Orange.

In particular, it is a good recommendation for FPT focus on core areas with heed paid to developing key resources in a great effort to make FPT's brand stronger, creating a network FPT ecosystem nationwide and towards reaching out to the world.

Particularly in the field of education, special attention should be paid to teaching literature and art subjects, and developing physical training and sports for student as well.

FPT Corporation has about 50,000 employees worldwide, VND 78 trillion worth of revenue, and an export turnover of about $800 million.

In Da Nang, FPT contributes one fifths of the city's revenue in the field of technology - information, contributing more than VND515 billion to the State budget (in 2021).

Particularly in the field of software export, FPT achieved a high record growth rate at over 20% a year on average. FPT eyes to reach the scale of 10,000 programmers by 2024.

LTD-UAC, PM Chinh suggested that UAC continue to pay attention to social responsibility and environmental protection, well implement regimes and policies for employees and pay attention to building a safe, friendly and harmonious working environment.

The factory covers an area of 16.7 hectares, with a total investment of US$170 million, is equipped with a system of modern machinery and technologies, strictly applying the provisions of the international safety management system.

Products manufactured at the factory are exported to Europe, Malaysia and North America markets.

At the construction site of the Lien Chieu Port, one of the 7 key projects in Da Nang calling for investment, PM Chinh surveyed the master plan and inter-regional traffic connection.

PM Chinh underlined a must-do to reasonably forecast, calculate data, complete the connection infrastructure, call for public-private cooperation on the basis of harmonizing benefits and sharing risks, promote decentralization for localities in the management, exploitation and use of the port and complete the project on schedule as well.

He also paid a visit to the Da Nang Software Park No. 2, which is expected to offer 6,000 job positions directly in IT and digital technology.

Till date, 90% of the project’s workload has been completed.

Da Nang government-funded 800 billion VND project, which facades onto Nhu Nguyet Street, Thuan Phuoc Ward, Hai Chau District, is also progressing well.

The project comprises office buildings covering a with a total gross internal floor area of more than 71,000m².

On this occasion, The Vietnamese government’s chief visited and presented gifts to Ms. Tran Thi Kim Cuc, 86, a war invalid residing in Thanh Binh Ward and Vietnamese heroic mother Nguyen Thi Nhung, 93, residing in Thuan Phuoc Ward, both in Hai Chau District.

The PM sent his warm regards and encouragement to the aforementioned social policy beneficiaries to continue to stay healthy, uphold their families’ traditional patriotism, setting shining examples for younger generations to follow and encourage their descendants to make greater efforts for the country’s growth.
