The Japan National Tourism Organisation (JNTO) in Viet Nam held a seminar in Da Nang on Friday to promote Japan’s tourism and boost the connection between Vietnamese and Japanese tour operators.

As part of the ongoing Viet Nam - Japan Festival 2022 in the city, the seminar aimed to provide Da Nang businesses with the latest information about the Japanese tourism industry.

In his remarks at the event, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori expressed his delight at fruitful results from cooperative programmes with Da Nang in such spheres as politics, economy, security and culture over the past time.

He hoped that, through this seminar, there will be a significant increase in the number of tourists to Japan from Central Viet Nam and vice versa in the coming time.

He added that, previously, people in Central Viet Nam who wanted to go to Japan had to visit Ha Noi to make visa application procedures. However, the Consulate General of Japan has been established in Da Nang, so his agency is preparing to be able to issue a visa in Da Nang as soon as possible.

Mr. Nguyen Cong Tien, Deputy Director of the municipal Department of Foreign Affairs, asked for support from JNTO to promote the reopening of the Japanese tourism market in the central region in the coming time.

He added Da Nang has established friendly cooperative relations with 4 cities of Japan, and deployed relations with 15 provinces and cities of Japan. Japanese localities together with Da Nang have implemented many cooperation programmes in many aspects.

During the seminar, participating businesses were provided with the latest information about the easing of travel restrictions in Japan, visa application procedures to enter Japan for the purpose of visiting for countries and territories in the ‘green’ group, and the Japan Tourism Administration’s guidelines for Japan tourism.

Also, there were discussions about Japan's opening policy to welcome visitors.
