21st EXCO conference officially opens in Da Nang
The 21st Executive Committee (EXCO) conference of the South East Asian Central Banks (SEACEN) Research and Training Centre officially opened in Da Nang on Friday morning.

Attended by the Deputy Governors of the Central Banks and the monetary authorities that are SEACEN members, the event was jointly chaired by Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Thi Hong, Deputy Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Pham Thanh Ha and SEACEN CEO Mangal Goswami.
In her opening speech at the conference, Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Thi Hong said that central banks have been facing great challenges, especially in controlling inflation, when the world economy is struggling with such negative shocks as high inflation, tightening global financial conditions, political tensions and complicated developments of COVID-19 in some countries.
Therefore, SEACEN has proposed many research and capacity building activities in 2023 on topics of great interest such as inflation control, capital flow management and foreign affairs issues.

As the host of SEACEN 2022, Governor of the State Bank of Viet Nam Nguyen Thi Hong presented some initiatives for leaders of central banks in the region to discuss, thereby forming practical solutions to ensure financial and banking stability.
At the conference, SEACEN CEO Mangal Goswami approved activities in 2023, including 31 operational programmes. Eleven of them are related to macro currency and exchange rate analysis, 14 are sustainability grant programme, and others.
It is expected that the contents agreed at the conference will be reported to Governors of Central Bank who are SEACEN members for approval by the end of 2022 at the conference for SEACEN Board of Governors (BOG).
