Da Nang calls for investment from overseas Vietnamese in Germany

As part of their ongoing working trip to Germany, the high-ranking delegation of Da Nang, led by municipal Party Committee Deputy Secretary cum People's Council Chairman Luong Nguyen Minh Triet, met with overseas Vietnamese (OV) entrepreneurs in Berlin and Frankfurt on September 14 and 15.

Investment from the OVs tends to increase

During the meetings, Deputy Secretary Luong Nguyen Minh Triet informed OV entrepreneurs about the city’s socio-economic achievements over the past time as well as its development orientations and projects calling for investment in the coming time.

He also acknowledged the vital role of the OV community in attracting and promoting investment, trade and tourism to Da Nang.

OV investors, business associations and organisations are considered as ambassadors to promote investment cooperation between Da Nang, and Viet Nam as a whole, and businesses and investors in the host country.

Mr. Triet said that OV investment inflows into Da Nang tend to increase, significantly contributing to the city's progress. However, the number of investment projects has yet to commensurate with the potential and strengths of the city and the growth of the OV community. Therefore, he expressed his hope that the OVs will continue to pour their money into Da Nang in the coming time.

Chairman of the Viet Nsam Business Association in Germany Vo Van Long expressed his excitement at Da Nang’s rapid growth over recent years, believing that the coastal city will enter a stronger development phase in the time ahead.

Mr. Vo Van Long affirmed that his association is always willing to introduce investment opportunities in Da Nang to its members as well as businesses and investors in Germany, hereby greatly contributing to promoting the development of Da Nang in particular and Viet Nam in general.

The OVs in Germany always look towards homeland

Chairman of the Association of Quang Nam - Da Nang Compatriots in Germany Truong Dinh emphasised that the OV community in Germany is always preserving the national identity, upholding solidarity and towards the homeland with deep affection by many meaningful deeds.

During the meeting, the OVs stressed the need for the Da Nang authorities to further simplify administrative procedures, improve the quality of human resources, and increase student exchange programmes.

They also underlined a necessity to open more direct flights from Da Nang to Europe, and a representative office to promote Da Nang tourism in Europe. Events to promote investment, tourism and real estate in Germany should be held in the coming time.

The OVs proposed the city to test educational and civil management software built by OV enterprises. They also expressed their willingness to support the city in case of natural disasters and epidemics.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs cum Vietnamese Ambassador to Germany Vu ​​Quang Minh noted that the Party and State of Viet Nam always consider the OV community to be an integral part and an important resource of the Vietnamese community.

In the coming time, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Germany will continue to support the OVs to seek potential investment projects in Da Nang, added he.

On behalf of the delegation, Mr. Luong Nguyen Minh Triet thanked the OVs for their constructive ideas and recommendations about the city's socio-economic development plans.

He also expressed his wish that the Vietnamese community in Germany would continue to promote the spirit of mutual affection and good traditions of the nation, as well as to act as a bridge to tighten the bilateral relations between Viet Nam and Germany.

During their stay in Germany, the Da Nang visitors visited and worked with representatives from the Harbauer GmbH Company and the KF Holding Group to exchange experience in the operation of urban wastewater treatment systems and automation models to control water quality.

Additionally, the delegation had a working session with the Trade Promotion Agency for the Frankfurt Region (Frankfurt Rhein Main GmbH) to discuss a number of cooperation, trade and investment opportunities between Da Nang and Frankfurt in the coming time.
