The Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre under the municipal Department of Tourism on Monday afternoon held a welcome ceremony for a delegation of 138 overseas MICE (Meetings-Incentives-Conferences-Exhibitions) visitors.

Arranged by Indochina Charmtours Company Limited, the delegation will stay in Da Nang from September 19- 23.

The delegation is enjoying benefits from the city’s incentive policies for MICE travellers. Included are a welcome ceremony for them, gift presentation, free assistance and consultancy services, along with their event marketing.

The city will continue taking action to retrieve MICE tourism by issuing support policies for MICE travellers in a bid to attract more visitors both at home and abroad in the remaining months of 2022 and 2023.

Previously, Da Nang had welcomed its first international MICE delegation of 558 visitors from PT Gajah Tunggal Tbk., an associate company of Giti Tire and the largest Indonesian tire manufacturer. Arranged by Dong Travel Agent, the Indonesian guests  visited Da Nang from August 29 to October 16.

A representative of the Indochina Charmtours Company Limited said: “In the future, the company will bring more MICE delegations to Da Nang as the city is a perfect destination with infrastructure capable of meeting the needs of both conference organizers (conference and event centers) and the participants due to  modern facilities, high-quality services offered at reasonable prices, convenience in public transport, and especially great care, active support and warm welcome from the municipal government given to MICE visitors”.

Between February 21 and August 1, 2022, the municipal Department of Tourism provided support and consultancy for 31 domestic MICE delegations with nearly 15,600 guests, including 7 delegations of 700 guests or more, 9 ones of 300-700 guests and 15 others of over 100 guests after incentive policies for the first 100 MICE delegations to Da Nang came into effect in February, 2022.

In its efforts to drive rapid recovery of Da Nang tourism sector, the city will continue its progress in implementing of its policy to attract business tourists for MICE reasons in 2022 and 2023. The focus will be on providing active support for such tourists through making arrangements for reception and transportation services for events, event venues, permits for MICE operations, tour guides and more in an attempt to create the most favourable conditions for MICE travellers during their stay in Da Nang.

MICE delegations consisting of 50, 150, 300 and 700 people or more will enjoy benefits from these support policies.

As for delegations of 700 people or more, Da Nang leaders will in person attend welcome ceremonies for them. Also, a vehicle will be offered for guiding delegations.

The Da Nang Tourism Promotion Centre is responsible for providing support activities and welcoming MICE delegations.
