Additional 10,000 train tickets on the North- South route for Lunar New Year 2023 released

Vietnamese railway sector will operate additional train services on its North- South rail line to offer additional 10,000 tickets in a bid to handle extra rush of passengers during the upcoming Lunar New Year 2023 (Tet Festival).

The Southern Sai Gon Railway Transport JSC (Saratrans) will run extra train services in its Southern train line to offer additional 2,000 tickets to passengers who want to return home to celebrate Tet with their families.

Previously, Saratrans had announced that 15 extra trains would run connecting Ho Minh Chi City into central region’s destinations, namely Nha Trang, Dieu Tri, Tam Ky, Da Nang, and Hue from January 20 to 25, 2023 (the 29th day of the 12th month of lunar calendar to the 4th day of the 1st Lunar Month. Accordingly, additional 8,000 tickets are now on sale.

Saratrans announced a 30% discount on 10% of its trains’ tickets for passengers travelling until December 28. Railway sector’s discount program is also applied on rail fares for social policy beneficiaries, seniors, war invalids, college students, children, and trade union members. When buying return, group and advance tickets, a 5%- 40% discount is given off regular prices for traveling on the North- South route. Passengers who buy full-room and full-car services are eligible for a discount up to 10% to 15% off the price of their train ticket purchase.
