Hosted by the municipal Department of Tourism, the seminar was a forum for participating speakers to share their value experience as well as exchange and propose appropriate solutions for the Da Nang tourism industry.
According to Deputy Director of the city’s Department of Tourism Nguyen Xuan Binh, digital transformation is an inevitable trend of development, especially for the local tourism industry after COVID-19.
The seminar helped to promote the application of information technology and boost digital transformation in business, transaction and communications activities of tourism businesses, as well as support them to seek opportunities to expand their market and lure more tourists in the coming time, Mr. Binh added.
Deputy Director Binh highlighted that Da Nang was one of the country’s leading localities in successfully deploying digital transformation solutions such as VR360 virtual reality tourism technology application and metaverse (roughly translated as virtual universe), e-trading floors, Da Nang tourism application on mobile devices, and Chatbot app.
He emphasized that the Da Nang tourism industry is willing to cooperate with the business community to share opportunities and overcome challenges in the current and future digital transformation process.
During the seminar, the invited guests also exchanged and shared their views on the general picture of digital transformation in the media field today, as well as identified the advantages and disadvantages of digital communications activities on the digital platforms in the field of tourism. Some topics were presented at the event included ‘Improving communication efficiency and reaching users on digital platforms for tourism businesses’, ‘Developing tourism community on digital platforms’, and ‘Share your experience of building and developing a personal TikTok channel’.
Digital transformation, and the development of social networking platforms and online communications channels, are being used by Da Nang tourism businesses as regular, popular and effective ways to have closer access to tourism information, and key and potential markets.
In addition to the Da Nang tourism industry’s great efforts, the companionship of digital media enterprises in terms of resources and technology solutions, and the response and awareness of the Da Nang tourism business community, tourism communications solutions on digital platforms will be concretized, thereby not only benefiting local tourism businesses but also promoting Da Nang's image to international friends.
